Conserving Thai Culture
Sotpattana School for the Deaf held a special activity presenting Thai culture including Traditional Ceremonies, Desserts and Games.. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak presided over the opening ceremony marking the start of the day with three learning stations. The teachers dressed in traditional costumes and helped the children learn about practice during Songkran festival, including the blessing ceremony and sprinkling of water onto a Buddha image, appreciate Thainess through their preparation of Khanom Thien Thai dessert, and be amused by participating in Thai children’s games including “Khi Ma Khan Kluay” or Banana Rib Hobbyhorse Riding, “Ngu Kin Hang” or Snake Bites Tail, and “Mon Son Pha” or “The Mon hiding cloth..”
